Zest Air is forced to suspend operations

Budget airline in the Philippines Zest Air is suspended earlier today Friday August 16 for safety violations. From the Philippines a series of infractions and deviations from safety inspections. There are many issues even to

Reports such as refueling planes while having passengers on board. Fueling and overflowing tanks. Failure to check aircraft bags not checking flight manifests. There are reports that at time they failed to check weather conditions. Safety standards have come into question among others aspects. Again these are according to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). These deviations from safety standards and rules to operate are serious enough that the Philippine Civil Aviation Regulations (PCAR) had drafted a letter to Chairman of Zest Air.

In March 2010 a ban came from the International Civil Aviation Authority on Philippine registered airlines allowed to fly into European airspace. The concerns came in regards to low cost airlines operating out of the Philippines. Cebu Airlines was another concern of this report back in March 2010 but as of recent last month July 2013 this ban was lifted. During the beginning ICAO had also downgraded the Philippines safety rating.

All these concerns have come to light as this is the latest safety issue is a concern from Zest Air. For now until at least the end of the weekend all operations have been suspended. All flights have been cancelled by the airline until August 19. This might change depending on many scenarios. To date they operate one Airbus A319-100 and Eleven Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
